What's the value of service?

by Sharon James

Sometimes we face the challenge of being asked to discount our commission and or management fees by property owners potentially wanting Craig Doyle Real Estate to sell or manage their properties. At times these property owners are almost offended when we don’t agree to their request.

What do the property owners actually want from our service? I think they want us to provide an exceptional sales and property management service to them and take care of their most valuable assets.

I often wonder what happens to these property owners where they choose to make a choice of appointing an agency purely based on fees. When in life does a budget price equate to a premium level of anything?

Here at Craig Doyle Real Estate, we know what our level of service is worth and what we’ve worked hard over many years to build up with our team, knowledge, systems and training. We commit to providing an excellent level of personalised attention to each property owner, taking care of their properties as if they were our very own to ensure a harmonious relationship between all parties involved. We ensure we work darn hard to provide this level of service to our clients, who in turn expect nothing less than this from us. If we were to discount our fees, would we have to provide a lesser level of service to that client?

Let’s say we were to charge a discounted rated, we would still have the same amount of staff however more properties and tenants to work with. This would mean less personalised attention to every property and its owner and without doubt, less ability to meet our promises that we are so well known for.

I guess it all comes down to the type of service our owners expect and what each owner is happy to pay. Additionally most of our owners know that there is a value that can be placed on lower stress levels.  Let us have the headaches not you 🙂
